ffq-lar Posted September 10, 2013 Report Share Posted September 10, 2013 When a customer asks for a quilt to look masculine, it usually means quilting that is simple, geometric, maybe less dense. I love the fabric colors. She has learned to depend on her DH when fabric shopping. He has a great eye for colors and texture. She loves that they shop together--she picks the pattern and he the fabric. I used straight-line quilting through the seam intersections with the lines extending into the larger blocks. That set me up to do even CC petals in the centers of the pinwheels. The smaller pinwheels in the sashings have CCs as well. Piano key border, perfect for "masculine" quilts. Only two thread colors--medium brown and silver.
