Thanks for posting your solution Helen.  This could help someone else down the road.

    Update:

My problem was definitely the top encoder wheel being loose. I totally detailed everything and tightened the rubber wheel. Problem solved!

My machine was a demo, 2021, purchased this year. I've run into a few things that maybe weren't checked before shipping, even had the front carriage wheel bar fall off, so guess it wasn't checked, either. I've gone through what I think is everything that could be a moving part or not, made sure all the screws were tightened, etc, while the machine was off the carriage, used lock tight on the screws as suggested by APQS, etc. so hope I'm good to go for a long time now.

    Thanks for the input.

What's wrong with the one you have (last legs)?  If the motor is giving out replace it, or simply replace the brushes.  I'm assuming you already have a commercial unit.  If not, buy one.  Jim

Exactly what "second floor" location do you have the machine set up on?  Unless the building shakes easily, I can't imagine the location of the machine is causing your vibration.  Look for some other issue.  Jim

Here is a couple of APQS YouTube videos on the adjustment.  The first is for LED machines and the other is for the fluorescent light machines.

It is on laminate flooring with anti vibration pads that are 5/8 inch thick. I will check the table tomorrow for level, not sure how to check that it is square. Thank-you for the suggestions! I appreciate it!

Thank you for your insights! I will check to see if it is squared. I assumed it was which is not always the case. I will check the lip too to make sure it is on right. It may be a day or two before I can get a picture up. It is a large quilt on the machine right now so taking a picture may prove difficult in getting a clear shot.

    Is your frame square?
Did you install the carriage correctly on the frame?  When I put my carriage on, I tilt the back end up because there's a lip on the front that needs to go underneath an edge on the table.
Can you post some pics of where the carriage sits on the bliss rails?

This video was a great help. Thank you Sue. I’m not sure what design I will use. I’m thinking just a loose wave.

Thanks, I was able to get 90% of it out, it barely shows.  I can't figure out where it came from either.  I've looked at the undercarriage and bobbin area and don't see anything.

We had a forced reno and had to replace ceiling tiles in our family room which houses my Lucey longarm quilter. We replaced my fluorescent lighting with 5000K LED Wafer Downlights. They are awesome. I have 8  placed in two rows of 4.
    Good for my aging eyes.

Here's an APQS video on using invisible threads.  I'd try a 3.5 needle.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-M_dBl1iNM
What quilting design are you going to use?

I have a customer or two that are pretty week in their piecing.  I use high loft batting on such quilts.  Helps deal with "fullness".  You might try that to help deal with one of the problems anyway.  Good luck.  Jim

Hot Mess is right! Why is it so hard to set boundaries when we are inately generous? Eighty is not that old if she's active enough to sew a top every month! Explain to her that the pet hair has become a problem---that the hair/dander transfers to your leaders/clothes/area and while you aren't allergic, you may have others you quilt for who are. If she can't clean them up to remove the hair and the smell (yuck!) (or have a friend do that for her) you gently and reluctantly tell her you will need to stop quilting for her. This is absolutely appropriate and I guess I'm not kind enough to continue doing something that makes me miserable every month when she has some control over the issues.  Bless her, of course, for still having the passion for piecing. But your time and talent are your own to manage and you should not have to do so many extra tasks to make her quilt presentable when she doesn't recognize the issues and has no incentive to help. Does she have a close friend that you can bring into the mix---who can be the go-between for suggestions and boundaries? Sorry if this seems harsh, but I'm also "old" and would like to spend my longarming time stitching and not fixing someone elses careless piecing and smelly, hairy tops.

I definitely do what is suggested from both posted replies, but but I usually have to work with the doors and windows open, and the need for a lint roller is the first order of pre-quilting chores.
I totally agree that being able to make quilts at her age is a blessing, and I've never seen a "perfect" quilt yet from myself or anyone else. lol, but I guess I could have added to my post that this person has box after box of tops needing to be quilted, but I'm also dealing with the fact that she has multiple cats, so each quilt, along with the bag she puts them into, comes with a LOT of cat hair and odor. ugh
She keeps up a pretty regular flow of quilts for me to do, exchanging a finished one for an unfinished one.  I do keep the quilting to a minimum, but when working with quilts that are always full of excess fabric and not a straight line or square corner to be had ever, it all gets pretty frustrating.
I think I'll just limit her to one a month from now on.
    Thanks for the replies.

I'm surprised it "falls off" in only one place.  Examine the rail for damage of some sort.  Tighten the wheels back up.  As for new wheels or not; examine them for wear.  Are the grooves nice and smooth?  Is there any play between the hub and body of wheel?  If you find any problems with the wheels, then yes, they need replacement.  If the wheels look good, concentrate on proper adjustment.  My guess is that you had them too loose to begin with.  Good luck.  Jim

Duffie - you may need to look for a different machine.  This listing is from 3 years ago and the seller hasn't logged in to this forum since Apr 2019.  You can see this by clicking on a user's name.  Good luck in your machine search.

If you are looking at a particular machine and have the year and/or serial number (and any other info),call or email Apqs and they can give you a rough price range for that machine. If you are just wondering price ranges in general, again I’d recommend contacting Apqs and asking. I was shopping for a used Millie machine earlier this year and they were so helpful and helped me get a perspective on what a fair price range would be for different vintages. It was really helpful. I’m sorry I don’t know more about the Lenni prices, but give APQS a call!  Good luck!

Terry - if you are actually listing the machine for sale here, you will probably get more interest if you include the following:
Photos of your actual machine (not stock photos) Your location and any shipping options (do you have the original box for shipping?) Accessories or other items included with the machine - table, bobbins, needles, thread, etc. Asking price   Good luck with your sale.

Are you asking about a sewing machine to piece with?  If so, top of my list is an old Singer 301, followed closely by a Singer featherweight 221.  If you're planning to do something other than piecing, maybe these aren't the machines you want.  The quality of manufacture of these old Singers is something you don't see today, probably never see again.  Sixty, seventy, eighty years old, doesn't matter.  They just don't die.  Jim

I use a retractable lanyard with a clip to hold embroidery scissors on my shirt.   That way I always have them handy no matter where I am around the longarm.  As to pins, I have 2 of the round magnetic ashtrays and put one each sideways on the bars that hold my lights.  You do have to be careful because if you knock them off the pins go all over, but they hold really tight.  The convenience for me is worth the rare occasional scramble to pick up pins.
