lindasewsit
This quilt was hand embroidered by the same lady that made that BEAUTIFUL quilt with the old fashioned bonnet ladies. This quilt is also STUNNING!! I have a few ideas , but would like your imput! I am putting more than one picture, so you can just see how pretty it is! I want to do the same treatment in each block. There are 9 of them. I just cannot get over her handwork! She is 76 years young!!!

lindasewsit
I forgot to say , that this is a green on green. Very elegant! Not sure I'm spelling that right, but you get the idea! linda
Linda G. Craig
That is amazing handwork! How gorgeous! I leave the ideas up to the experts...............I'll just stare and admire!
MarieBrewer
I think I would do swirls around the emb. heads and CC's in the on point gn blks. Maybe lg terry twists in the larger gn squares w/feathers inside the twists (not in the center but on the outside edges of the twists (w/in the blk). Yikes-is that nonsense? meg_marsh
I would echo the little girls and then cross-hatch around that - very traditional. Would probably just SID around the squares. To me, this just screams for very traditional.......... If there is a large border, I would add some simple feathers.
IBQLTN2
depending on how large the embroidery designs are here is what I would try to do,. My art work isnt very good because I am using my finger on a laptop as a mouse. gee I wonder why I cant make round feathers, but you should get the idea. circle around the design, feather around the circles to the green chain and crosshatch inside the circle to the embroidery and either cc or terry twist the green chain. doodlebug
this was my gut reaction a circle around the head with an ech- meander (tight) inside the circle. that will pop the embrod then feather outside the circle. Judi
I like Meg's idea, stay with traditional quilting. Looks like she did and excellent job with her handwork and piecing and pressing too!!! Such a very sweet quilt - I would love to see cross-hatching on here. Looks like her blocks are well done and it would line up well. How big are those little dolls faces anyhow?? Would they need any quilting within themselves do you think? Perhaps adding dimension to the bonnets?? Good Luck - and besure to post some "after" photos. (please!!) I have not seen a green and white before, lots of Red, some blue.... but not green. Nice change!
Mercedes
Beautiful Quilt. I have to ask - does anyone know what pattern this is and where it can be purchased.....Mercedes
Sheri Butler
So far, either/or designs would look great on this quilt. The cross-hatching, and/or the circle/w/feathers. That's my vote. Oh, and p.s. your one lucky gal to get such NEAT and fun quilts from this lady!
IBQLTN2
Doodlebug Ginx you owe me a Coke, too funny. very pretty hand embroidery work for sure. Did she have any ideas on how she would like to see it quilted?
witha'K'quilting
I would frame the embroidered girls faces and CH behind the frame. Or maybe McTavish behine the frames. Beautiful handiwork. This is gonna be gorgeous when finished!
lindasewsit
Hi! She did not have any ideas....leaving it up to me. It's funny how I was thinking the same ideas you all were... I am going to attempt to do what I was thinking with my mouse and see what you all think.... I'm going to go try it...
lindasewsit
Here's a very rough thought of what i was thinking... kind of a double "frame" crosshatch in the middle and feathers on the outside..... but I'm not sure how to set my feathers.
