JustSewSimple
I wanted a good bobbin winder without paying $300 so Patty Butcher suggested one from All Brands for $65. I bought it and didn't use ir for about 6 weeks. Got it out used it on about 5 bobbins and it filled the room with smoke. I got in touch with All Brands and they wouldn't take it back because I "abused it." Well, I got to thinking about the motor being covered with plastic and perhaps wasn't getting air. I got out my handy coping saw and cut the plastic off 1/2 way. Now, it works like a charm. Ha, Ha! I love my $65 winder! Can you see my handy work? Quilting Heidi
Sylvia, That's the way to show them! I'd like to know exactly how it is that you can abuse a bobbin winder too. Way to go!
Mary Beth
if the company you bought it from is the same people who covered it in plastic, I would be tempted to email them that picture and tell them you fixed their mistake.
JustSewSimple
Just a foot note here: I have used this bobbin winder daily winding MANY bobbins each day and there has been no problems at all. Have no fear if you need a good winder buying one that looks like this one (don't know brand name). I works wonders and just smiles at me while it winds.
