My opinion, for what it's worth, is to either ditch, CC, or do a Terry Twist in the colored blocks. I think what you have done is awesome, but too much would take away from it.

I think I would try to do something different in the colored strips although I'm not sure what. I would stick with the same thread.

Love what you have done, not to thready at all. You might consider piano keys in the colored areas.

In the center striped sections I would SID, then using 3 more different sizes of circle templates I would randomly plop and stitch around them they could overlap in places, In the narrow border striped area I would SID and then do a double wavy line threw the center.

I would do straight or squiggly Xs, with the same thread, all the way up and in the colored blocks in the border. Count up maybe 4-5 stripes, whichever would make it more squarish looking. I've done that before with this design and it looked great!

I really like what you've done but I too would just SID the centers. It will give the eye a place to rest. It is going to be really pretty! I'd probably use monofiliment if you have it or you can pick a color that blends in the best with all of the colors.

Keep the colored blocks area simple. The feathers jump and to blend with all the colors don't do anything to shi shi foo foo - SID would be good like Heidi suggested. Share when you're done please - it's a fun quilt.

My thought was like you Tracey. Use black thread and go the other way. But that may be too much. I like the SDI idea using the mono thread. I use a clear plasticc sheet and use a dry erase pen to audition designs. It really helps me. I love what you have done so far! Can't wait to see what you do.

I also think "simple" is better, to offset you beautiful feathers. Either straight horizontal lines; SID: cross-hatching or X's.

I love your feathers and if it was me, I would do a loose meander of sort in the colored blocks and let the beautiful feather quilting speak for itself and stand out.
