NQR - Follow up on Daughter's Status

Recommended Posts

Thanks to all of you who prayed for my daughter who is expecting twins and had such a difficult time with hyperemesis. She has gone from being sick 24/7 and not being able to care for herself to doing great now and she has even gone to work part-time for the Home Health agency that helped her though this when she had an IV line at home. (She is an OB nurse by trade) Her desire is to help other women in high risk pregnancies going through what she went through. I was able to go with her to a very detailed sonogram yesterday...(I was not allowed to know the babies sex as she does not want to know either) but it was the coolest thing to see both of them and they are thriving! They even did a 3D picture that looks like a photograph of the babies, not just gray blurry stuff, so I could see what they look like! One weighs 15 oz and the other weighs 1lb 3 oz. and they are constantly moving and kicking each other (oh no, a sign!) But I wanted everyone to know that this time that was so very difficult seems to be past now and she is over half way there!

Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers! I'll keep you posted on what they are when they are born in October!

Meg,

I actually did look when they said look away, but it was hard to tell what I was looking at...but since they could even see each chamber of the heart and measured each leg and arm bone, I'll bet they also knew exactly what they were looking at..and it kills me to know they know and I think I saw at least one boy but not really sure...

I am so very happy to hear she is doing better. Whew!! Going to tell Jen....maybe this will inspire her to try again. Praying still for happy, healthy babies. I'm really sorry this happened to her, but on the other hand, she now knows what others go through. You know, the medical specialist try to say hyperemisis is all in your head.....tell Jen that...but wear protective gear when you do :D

Vicki that is awesome news! It is amazing what technology is available these days for sonograms! I didn't want to know the sex of my babies before they were born either. I think there is so much we know now that a surprise is glorious! With that said it sure is easier to start making things if you know the sex. I can't wait to hear about these two healthy babies and the joy they surely will bring!!!!

I've had several friends and family members with hyperemises - don't tell them it was all in their heads!!! Anyway, glad to hear your daughter is doing great. I had twins, one boy and one girl (they are gonna be 15 in three weeks) we had an ultrasound but not the 3D kind like they have today - how FUN for you to see them before they are even born.

Praying for a safe remainder of the pregnancy and a safe delivery!!

If you can you should post pics of the 3D sonogram - how cool to see what that looks like.
