Northern Lily Southern Rose

Recommended Posts

Thanks,

The three are so close. They may vary in the sashing color and the lightness

of the background fabric behind the roses.

The piecers/appliquers used civil war reproductions. The next one

and last for a while I hope, was pieced and appliqued by one of my

guild sisters that passed away two months ago. She did like the way I

quilted her tops. She won two ribbons; one first prize and one second prize.

Her daughter asked me to quilt her mother's last quilt because I was her favorite quilter.

Laurie, did you take the class (Northern Lily Southern Rose) from Bobbie Ball?

The class for this quilt is always full.

No, I didn't. I took the class at TC a long time ago from Verna - before she became famous!

I did meet Bobbie last week when I went to TC to deliver a client quilt. There are some very talented applique-ers in that class!

It's a time consuming and difficult quilt to piece - especially those lily corners! It took me 3 years to get the appliqued borders finished!
