CrazyAboutQuilting
Lisa, what a pretty quilt! Your right, the clamshells are perfect for it. You really have been busy this summer! Way to go, your quilts look great!
GrandmaLKB
I love the clamshell design. Just looks "neat and tidy" and really ties the quilt top together without overpowering the design.

sewlinzi
Very neat! I have been looking for a clamshell board where the clams nestle neatly without backtracking...
Sandra Darlington
It looks great! I have the CL Clams, too. Love it! What thread did you use? It really blends in very well.

njquiltergirl
Hi. Thanks for the compliments, you are all the best! Sandra: The thread was SF, a medium blue. Linzi: There is no backtracking with the CL clams. Very crisp and neat. Like a panto, the stops and starts are on the edges. No mess at all. My board is the FanClam, so it has the clamshells and the Baptist Fan on one board. The Clams are fast and easy...perfect every time! I get to use my Swirlz for the first time later this week. This will be a high-contrast, contemporary quilt for a new customer. I think the quilting will really pull it all together for this one. It is very unusual!! yankiequilter
Love the quilt, and the CL clams are perfect on it! I've got both the giant clam and the new clamshell board with two sizes and they are absolutely wonderful! Love the fact that it is easy to use for both all over and also just in a border, if desired, with no stops from one end to the other.

yankiequilter
Lisa, yes there are two sizes on the new clam boards. I don't think Michael has them on the web site yet, but give him a call. I really like size of the clams on them, about 2-1/2" wide and 1-7/8" wide, the size of the clams on the 18" mini clams template.

Sandra Darlington
Thanks for the thread info, Lisa. Another question...did you stitch from left to right; end off, and stitch again from right to left? Or, did you stitch from right to left, and then left to right? njquiltergirl
Sandra, I did it just like a panto. From the back - r to l., walk back and repeat. Isn't that right??? Lisa
