Tracey
It has GOT to have feathers. Any ideas? The picture doesn't do this one justice. It is really striking. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated!! Tracey

Primitive1
Yes! I agree and can't wait to see it finished!
LFQuilts
But no feathers in the border - they will be wasted there. Other than that, have at it as Doodelbug has drawn. Have fun:) Lynn
JustSewSimple
Can't wait to see how you wake this top up. It is beautiful as is but you are going to give it life.
Butterfly
Like Doodlebug said. Lots of feathers. Those fabrics are great for showing off feathers, and some straight or squiggly lines in the border. Jess
Neher-in-law5
The feathers as doodlebug has shown, then that skinny border at the border needs to be sid on both sides, then maybe ribbon candy or something like it going between the flowers on the large part of the border. This is such a striking quilt. What pattern is it? That one is one for the "don't I dream big" book!
Bunny
I have that lovely border fabric......hmmmm - I need to rethink that fabric.....
Busy Quilting
If the pink and white curved areas are large enough maybe a circular feather. Well the one with a curved spine in the shape of a c then back out in ther direction shape of a c. I'd do better to draw it on paper. Or maybe one of these days I'll try in paint!! Quilting Heidi
Tracey, That is a beautiful quilt. I would do just like Shannon and feather it to death. I played with it just a little and one option to break up the feathers is to do echo quilting of the design in the red but I'm not sure I like that as well as I do the feather up at the top in the red. You could always feather the red part and then do a fill in the white but I think feathers will probably do that area well too. I would do some curved cross-hatching in the black area. Really hard to draw that small in the picture but I think it would really showcase the embroidery.
RitaR
I can see Linda and Adam's "Pinched Squares" template in the focal blocks.. feathers in the white and black, then cross hatch the floral border at an angle.. meanwhile the brain would be working on what to do in the red area. I sorta like the scrolls that Lyn shows.
Judi
Very nice - Beautiful quilt - love the colors! Can't wait to see it all quilted up - - YES to lots of soft feathers, perfect! (but lost in the outer border, I agree) I could do a simple crosshatch on that area. Please post a photo when finished........ Have fun and good luck!
