witha'K'quilting
My Part 3 is done for the Roll Roll Cotton Boll mystery. I made 60 string blocks for the scrappy version and still have to cut the squares for the planned version. I decided that string blocks for it were not necessary since I have a 5 yard chunk of my gray fabric!
Sparkle
Your black & white string quilt blocks (with a splash of color) are so pretty!
delld
Kristina, that's going to be one great quilt. String quilts are so much fun. I'm working on one made from my husbands aunts clothing. it's king. All I have to do is add the borders and quit it. When I get it done I'll post. I would love to finish it for Christmas for her daughter, but I don't think that is going to happen! can't wait to see your finished!
witha'K'quilting
I sure hope the quilt looks great. I added orange shirtings, purple and lime green as the other colors..oh, and pink solid too. I love bonnie's mysteries. They are so much fun. I may actually be able to catch up though. Only two more customer quilts; then the rest of the year is mine...all mine!!!

Its either that or schedule a quilty retreat for one weekend each month!!
ffq-lar
I second that, Heidi! Set up a schedule of "me time" to allow someone else to take over for one weekend a month. That will make both the patient and the caregiver a taste of what it's like without you around!!! Kristina--great blocks! I always follow Bonnie's blog and love to see her projects. Did you use the phone book paper for the string blocks? Such a great idea!
witha'K'quilting
Hi linda, I used old sheets as the foundations for the blocks. I cut them to 10" with my syudio cutter, then pieced them, then trimmed down to 8-1/2" with the studio again. This made it go quickly. And, no, I didn't save the trimmings. I had had enough of some of these prints.

kusmaulk
Okay, Kristina, I am now committing to do the RRCB mystery. I just love the scrappy look, and went thrifting yesterday and bought nine men's cotton shirts for my neutrals. I know I am wayyyyy behind, but I'm retired now, so I should be able to catch up eventually. I also picked up two wool sweaters which are in the process of becoming felted wool purses. What fun!!!!!!!!
witha'K'quilting
I am glad you are doing the mystery to karol. I am working on part 3 for one quilt and part 4 for the other! I decided against using a large piece of fabric as the neutral for the planned one...so a scrap hunting I will go! Out to the bins to see what I have in olive drab/green strings and yardage!
