victoriasews
Personally, I'd go lighter. I'd use 454 Superior SoFine. To me, the darker colors, when quilting over light spaces tend to look stringy. Keep in mind, that is simply my preference. I have never been happy with darker thread. Even when I do black fabric, I use a charcoal gray thread.
KerriM
What color is Superior So Fine 454? I looked for it on Kingsmen Quilting supply and couldn't find this number. I would like to look at it. Thanks, Kerri
Busy Quilting
454 is called "sandstone". Look up www.superiorthreads.com under the products tab. Will show you a good sample colour of it Lyn
KerriM
Thanks Lyn. I did find it there also. But do you know where I can order it? I usually get my thread from Columbia River but that color doesn't look like its available there. I don't quilt for others so don't have a wholesale account anywhere. I'm still deciding about the rust color. This sandstone color would still be a dark color on the cream fabrics just like the rust color. The sandstone is a nice color tho and would match the quilt top but the rust matches the backing better. Kerri

KerriM
Thanks for all the nice compliments. This pattern was so easy to make and I just used the same colors they had on the pattern and it worked great. I used Tuscany Wool for the batting. KerriM
Hi Sheri, Well, the second identical quilt is for my other son and they will be used in their room that they have in a cabin of ours. We will have log beds in there, so I think it will look good. I'm busy making other quilts for the other beds as well. I'm almost done piecing the second quilt. It will be identical because I thought it was easier to lay it out like the last one rather than trying to get it just right, like the last one. Thanks Sheri, Kerri
