Dyan
And what I learned today is to never, never, never buy pins (even though they are soooo pretty!) from the Dollar Store!!! They are so dull that they will not even pierce through material! I need to throw them away, BUT, they are pretty! Any ideas what I should do with them? Quilting Heidi
LOL at least you weren't out too much. They are pretty.
Terri C.
If you have an extra pin cushion you could put them in it, set it someplace so you can still look at them and think about how pretty they are.
ffq-lar
Those are pretty! Go to Michael's or other hobby store and buy a couple of styrofoam balls for crafting. Score them with a serrated knife in a crazy-quilt-like pattern. Take pieces of fabric a bit larger than each scored area and use a dull knife to insert the fabric edges in the grooves. Make them scrappy with any colorway you like--not necessarily Christamas-y fabrics. When the ball is covered, use the pins and insert to follow the "seams" like a crazy quilt. If the pins are too long, snip them with wire cutters. Pile your Crazy Quilt Orbs in a pretty bowl or give as gifts. PS--I love the Dollar Store! ffq-lar
I made these 30 years ago from a pattern in Woman's Day or Good Housekeeping! I still have a couple on my tree....
CindyT
My friend bought them a bunch of other sewing type items (small scissors, bobbins, seam ripper, etc.) and glued them to a wreath with a WELCOME sign on it and gave it to me for my birthday! mamu
I use these pins to put up blocks/small hangings on the wall...use them as tacks...work pretty good and don't leave much of a mark in the wall or design boards.
GrandmaLKB
I love the yellow flower head pins from JoAnn's...........I've tried other "flower head" pins and they were dull, thick and didn't work well at all. Live and learn. At least you didn't waste a lost of money on them !
