Quilting Heidi Posted January 20, 2015 Report Share Posted January 20, 2015 I'm making progress. I have most of the design choices decided now. The only area I'm unsure of is what I'm going to add around the feathers in the outside border. Originally I was going to stitch those feathers in a blue because I wanted the border to read more blue but then chickened out because I felt like the tiny part of the border that spills into the cream background needed to be the same color thread as the center motif. Now I'm trying to decide what to do in the areas that will be left unquilted. I'm leaning toward piano keys and using the cream color thread but not positive yet. Any other suggestions. There will still be a curved cross hatched area in the border where it peaks up and that will pull into the main quilt. This quilt is going to take FOREVER! In the border open space I would micro stipple on the inside area as you did in the center medallion, then micro piano keys the outer border openings. No matter what, it will be gorgeous.
