stitchinsally
This is the first time I've ever posted a photo so, I hope that I am successful. I just wanted to share with everyone the quilt I pieced and quilted for by nieces Christmas present. First - it's completed by Christmas. Actually, it has been completed since July. That alone is an accomplishment for me. Anyways, it was a pattern from an issue of Quiltmaker. And, the quilting is freehand in each block. It is almost like a sea shell but, extended out to be kindof like a flower. It's the first time I've done something so extensively freehand. Its also the first time I've quilted on batiks and blue jean fabric. I thought for sure I'd have problems but, didn't. My niece is being informed that if she wants to return it to the sender she is welcome to. I just think it turned out so cool. Oh, I made a matching pillowcase also. Thanks for letting me share and everyone have a Merry Christmas.

I like how the batik flower rails look like they go under the denim sguares and do a weaving thingy.... because of your quilting!! That is great! What an idea!
