LauraJ
I don't know if this has ever been discussed on the chat group. My mom, an avid quilter was blown away by what this man does. Every single thing in the quilt is made out of wood - not fabric. She saw these quilts 'live' and yes, they are truly wood. If you haven't seen it - go check it out. I was amazed. http://www.gofraser.com/photos.htm

quiltmonkey
This is extremely way cool; blows me away, too. The love of carving wood and quilting combined together.... Who wulda thunk it?
chickenscratch
Oh, I\'ve seen his stuff in person, at the quilt museum in Paducah. I was fooled into thinking they were real until I got right up close. I don\'t know if they are still hanging there or not, but if you get a chance to see them somewhere you should. Mary Beth
That is amazing...and wouldn\'t you know...the one I picked out was $42000.00!! Next year\'s Christmas list;)
quiltermidwife
OMG!! These are truly amaaaaazing. Would love to see them close up. There seems to be so much detail. Would love to have one, but at $42000 (did I read that right?) I think I\'ll have to make do with piecing one! Chris
quiltaholi_518
My husband was looking over my shoulder when I said I would love to have one of these. He said "For those prices, I will get you a towel bar and you can throw one of your hundreds of quilts over it in a heap, just like that!" MEN!!!!! pfrost
This man\'s work was featured several years ago in a quilting magazine--don\'t remember which one it was, but I was blown away, too, when I realized his work was made totally of wood. He\'s definitely good! Isn\'t it interesting that he likes to make realistic-looking quilts, of all things. Thanks for sharing...forgotten about his art, but it really is something. Mary Beth
and our customer\'s sometimes think we charge too much!! Seriously....he does do beautiful work.
Bonnie
MEN!!! I agree Caron....Gene said just the same thing. Although he liked them, he sure wasn\'t falling for the "Can I have that one"....I too picked out one that cost more than my first house, and that house was only $35,000. GramieSnooks
They are beautiful. I don\'t think I need to spend that much for something that would need dusting.
Judi
Wow! Thanks for sharing the website - awesome - but a bit out of my price range.....
jajab
I remember seeing these in a quilt magazine not to long ago. But like Pat I am not sure which one either. Wonderful though. Yes, more than my first house also. And that was also $35,000 just 13 years ago. A dollar doesn\'t go far these days. Angela
