lyonden
Just wanted to let you guys know that the bad customer "LOST" her suit. Long story short, the judge thought the quilt looked fine to him. The quilting matched the diagram she sent, he measured the pattern that was to be so far off (1/16 off), and showed her it was not. Anyway, she was not a happy camper when all was said and done. Woohoo for the longarmer!!!!:P:P:P
PattyJo
Good news. I hope that the bad customer considers the old saying "What goes around, comes around". I hope your Longarmer friend is celebrating:D:D Thanks for the good report.
mrmquilt
That is great. Isn\'t that public record?? You should be able to say their name now. Michele
quiltmonkey
Good! I hope she boo-hoos her sorry little eyes out all over that quilt, and then crawls under her "soaking wet blanket" in shame. Some people are so pathetically miserable. Maybe rolling under a cold wet blanket is what she really needs...

ffq-lar
And the Dark Side loses again!!! That is a great outcome that unfortunately used up time, energy, money, and peace of mind. But it feels so good when the right side wins!!!
Bonnie
Yippy Skippy....I\'m so glad to hear that she lost. Poor sole, now maybe she will just crawl back under her rock and stay there.
yeoldeforest
Can the long armer counter sue for slander or something? Ok, maybe in my dreams.... I do feel for her...what an ordeal and so many of us take our quilting personally!!!
busybee
Maybe that just reminded her that everybody is human and not perfect. I am so glad to hear customers are not always right for a change. lol Nita

lyonden
As a matter of fact, both longarmers she tried to trash are thinking of a countersuit. The first one really got trashed from state to state. It really hurt her business but in the long run, the longarmer opened a store and is doing well now. After winning her suit, the longarmer called me from the quilt shop we work out of and was doing a snoopy dance. The nasty customer had been suing her for 600.00 (cost of quilt) and another 500.00 for ruining her quilt. Sooooo, I suggested to the quilter that she had an extra 500.00 in her purse and she needed to go shopping. :D:D:D
chickenscratch
I would charge that nasty woman for all attorney and court costs and for desecration of character and loss of business.
yeoldeforest
oh...please let us know about the countersuit....go for punitive damages!!!!! maybe if you take all her money away, she won\'t be able to terrorize another longarmer:cool:
ffq-lar
Forgive and forget...... No, not that one......... Turn the other cheek.... No, not that one..... Sue the c**p out of her... BethDurand
Hurray! Here\'s hoping that the longarmers were able to recoup some of their losses, or at least keep doing the happy dance. Beth
jazzsmom
OMG!! What a horrible experience. I am glad you won. In IL you would have had to countersue at the time you filed the answer to the complaint, asking for attorney fees and other damages at that time. Hope you were able to do so. You can always advertise that you won a lawsuit filed by so and so. Let\'s get her name out there for some public humiliation.
jazzsmom
I forgot to add that maybe you should contact the local newspaper for some free "publicity.". An article about your win in court might get the clientele back.
