quiltmonkey
So last night, I'm busy sewing the binding on a baby quilt I just finished and I look down to see this site looking right back up at me. Oh goodness...I am afraid that Rika might be practicing her "Playdog" centerfold pose. Hopefully The Hef won't be ringing our door any time soon... Boni
What a sweetie! SHE is very charming. Wants attention, I guess! By all means, give her a pat for me.

quiltmonkey
Oh yes, you got it. Rika is a sweeeeeeetie pie! Definitely a charmer. Such a lovey lovey lovey dove she is. A sweeter dog you will not find. One of her many nicknames is "Honey Pup" I call her "Honey" all the time cuz she's so sweet. She's not spoiled, either. Nope! No spoiled dogs live in my house! Bonnie
Sara strikes that pose often...I call her Hussy Dog, when she does that.
Sandra Darlington
Rika really is a sweetie pie. And, Shana's pups are definately, positively, completely (running out of adjectives here) unspoiled. LOL! Truely, they are soo cute and adorable...and well behaved. kimmiequilts
Shana, what a sweetie, I love when my girls go 'belly up' looking for a belly rub. My blonde golden, Daisy even has a come hither look! Life would be so much less without the furry kids!

Quilting Heidi
Shana, Your right she is a love! I'm sure she got a nice little belly rub out of that pose! Her face is precious.
SandraC
And here's Miss Ruby with the quilt I just finished to send with my daughter to university. It is a quiltville mystery, lots of fun!!! Ruby is approx 50 lbs at 5 months old!!!
fabric007
I know a dog that purrs when you rub her belly and ears..Ya purrs....
BethDurand
Our Marshie (aka "Fuzz Butt") will also often adopt the "Flying Upside Down Round Hound" position. Totally unresponsive when you pet his belly, play with his feet, tease him. I imagine that it feels pretty good to him to lay that way. What would do without our sweet babies? ffq-lar
Pups in that position are giving you the ultimate compliment--they love you and trust you with their life!! Bless our four-legged family members.
kimmiequilts
Cute pups, gotta love them big time! Sandra what a pretty quilt and the quilt tester is adoreable!
QuiltSnob
Mine lay like that too. And when I quilt they have their little spots picked out in the room so they can be close to me. they are spoiled babies! All four of them! lol
Judi
Aaww!!! Such cute furry little pups! I like the quilt too Sandra - nice colors!!
PamelaA
My Dexter isn't spoiled at all. He only has two beds from LL Bean with his name on them... Dexter is a Scottie but I sometimes refer to him as a Scottish Terror. My sister told me that the upside down pose showing the belly is a form of submission. They are recognizing a pack member further up the chain. Pamela
quiltmonkey
SandraC in Ontario, I can't get over how extremely adorably cute your puppy Ruby is. Way too cute. I just wanna hug her. What a cutie.

SandraC
Thank you Shana....I do think she is the cutest puppy I've ever seen!!!....and the sweetest disposition of any puppy we've had! We're used to having Sheppards and Shep/lab mixes so this is a bit of a change......I'm in love!!! And, yes, she's extremely huggable. Our Molly used to be good around quilts, actually walked around them when you laid them out to look at them. Then another dog would love to lay on them. Ruby, now, is a different story! She likes to lay on them, then starts to chew on them! I'll have to be real careful with her around! Sandra
pigletaz
Shana - I just love German Shepards but she doesn't look like a watch dog! That's her relaxed position. My dog is a ten year old poodle who is afraid of anything else that moves on legs. Does she ever get into "protect my parents" mode?
JoleneK
I have to keep my pup as far away from quilts as possible. She is a 100 lb. Alaskan Malamute. A great big furr ball that thinks she's a lap dog. I need to send her up to Shana's, its way too hot here in Florida for her. The summer is killing the poor thang. quiltmonkey
Oh, Jolene, I love the Malemute! Aren't they the biggest CHUNKS OF LOVE???? Seriously; so big; such teddy bears they are! And Pamela; when I was in high school we had a Scottie named Tammie Kate McCallister. She was all black. So so so so so cute! I love the Scotties! Does she ever get into "protect my parents" mode? She's a lover, not a biter. LOL! Her disposition is very even keeled. Her daddy is a super mellow fellow (also ours). She comes from good breeding on both sides. Her mama comes from a line of super models (show dogs) shepherds from Ontario Canada; and her Daddy was born in Salem, OR, and comes from a long line of working dogs, so she's got the beauty and the brains. All her bros and sisters (she came from a litter of 12) are awesome dogs. So, no, she's not aggressive at all. She will bark though and her bark is loud! But she gets along with strangers and with other dogs, too. She's well socialized with people and dogs (which is a very important thing for dogs to have!) Rika will be two in December.
