i know i need to work at the SID, I'm hoping when it washes it will look better. It was pieced and ironed with open seams. I think that makes a difference. I've read several articles about ironing seems open. I'm not sold yet.

anyway, I practiced feathers, rulers and freehand designs.

Hi Ann Marie:

That's a pretty quilt and you did a wonderful job with the quilting! I have read that you should not ditch seams that are pressed open because all you're sewing over is thread...not fabric. That made sense to me. Anyone else have an opinion?

I agree with Kristina, it looks great!

The other day I was reading on the Green Fairy blog and saw one of the first quilts she quilted back in the day. It was along the lines of what my first looked like (not so good! LOL) and look at her now! You are gonna be a master quilter in a year, or maybe not even that long!!!
