peglu
I made this for a co-worker for her new baby. It was a commissioned quilt, start to finish. Most certainly not what i would have picked. Deer are machine applique. I used QD poly blend batting. So fine on top. BL on bottom. The quilting is pretty simple, but that is what she wanted. I echo Heidi in saying that it is difficult to work on one that you are not fond of. Peggy
LisaC
Looks great and I'm sure New Mom will love it since she had the input on its creation! Babies really don't care what their covered in; they just care that they are covered.
Heirloom Quilter
I agree with Lisa, babies don't care. It's a good thing. I'm making one for my niece's new baby in Mossy Oak breakup camouflage. That's what she's decorating the baby's room in. No pretty blue for this little man. Green, brown and orange all the way I guess.
K. Szymaszek
Not very babyish, only my opinion. Otherwise, I like it. K

Oma
I like it a lot. I would love to have it. It's very understated, but has a very serene-like quality to it. Nice job.

Liam
I like it! Not a traditonal baby quilt that is forsure, but it's a quilt that can be used after the baby years.
Quilting Heidi
You did a great job on it Peggy! Not what I'd pick either for a baby quilt but you rocked it. Looks like an Adirondack style quilt.
GrandmaLKB
My quilting friend's mailman requested her to make a camo baby quilt for his new grandson. She had a hard time making it, too, as she couldn't get used to the idea of camo fabric for a baby quilt.
dlnewell
I think it's pretty. It has a modern look to it, but still woodsy.
Anne from Guam
Nice! That is going to be one Zen-style baby!
CindyT
Variety is the spice of life? Same goes for quilts as not everyone's taste is the same. If that's what the mother requested, you supplied her need. It will provide comfort and warmth for the baby and that's what matters. I think you did a great job on it and the straight line quilting in the background was perfect for it!
Bekah
Peg this is really one of a kind and I really like how you quilted it and your dear family is darling.

queenie123
I really ,really ,really love it !!! I have never tried applique but now I would love to learn just to make one of these ,was it very hard cutting the deer out ? I was just given a deer fabric panel today with the small blocks of deer printed on it as a border ,perfect timing ,thank you for sharing ! Sandra Darlington
I think you did a great job on this quilt. It is not what I would have considered for a baby quilt, either, but it is a very nice quilt.
peglu
Sorry it took me so long to respond to posts. Thanks for all the nice comments. Queenie, I did the applique with fusible. I traced the deer onto the paper side, ironed it to the fabric, cut it out, then ironed it on to the quilt. I did machine applique around the edges. It was my 1st time doing machine applique and I really liked it. It was easier than I thought and much faster than needle turn. Mom picked the quilt up and loved it. Thats what matters. And... I actually made a little money on it.
