She made this modern black, white and grey colored DWR for her grown daughter. As we went through lots of ideas for the quilting on this project, She said she wanted something traditional, but kept coming back to a very modern photo of a DWR she really liked. Here is the marriage of traditional and modern I came up with for her.... The asymmetrical feather plumes will have a different look from each angle and the quilt can be put on the bed in any direction since the quilt is square (97x97). The little box grid and floating under the rings is my nod to a subtle modern quilting style. She wanted a light batting, so we used Hobbs 80/20, white So Fine thread.
