Laura Farnham
This is the other quilt I did for a customer from Palmer, Alaska. She wasn't sure what she wanted when she dropped it off. We had discussed several options, But when I got it on the machine, it took on a whole new look. Needless to say, She was just thrilled with the end results. She is the same customer I did the "Aurora Borealis" quilt with the Niteglow thread. She recieved this quilt already but has not seen the Glow in the dark one as of yet. As always, Thanks for looking! Laura

Quilting Heidi
Laura, I love the way that came out and the circles are just what it needed. I need to add this one to my list of ideas. Did you use a cq to quilt this or did you use rulers? Heidi
Laura Farnham
Thanks Sandra, Jean and Heidi!! Heidi- I used the Hartley Fence for my Circles. It was so easy and took no time at all. I think the circles were just what the quilt needed. Rulers for the 1/4 inch outlineing and piano keys on the border (not shown) and I just McTavished where the circles came togther. This quilt was actually very simple to do and took no time at all. the hardest part was that the thread color was such a good match to the fabric, that I had to keep stopping to see what I had done. Thanks Again- Laura

chickenscratch
What color is the backing, and what bobbin thread did you use? I love the look of the circles. Did you use a lofty batting, or flat cotton. This is definitely my favorite quilt this week.. So simple, but so elegant.
quiltmonkey
Laura, the dark blue and gold (colors of our state flag) in this quilt is stunning! The quilting (circles) make this very interesting. Lots of movement created. You rock, woman!
Laura Farnham
Hey Teresa- The backing fabric was similar to the northern lights fabric used in the "Aurora Borealis" quilt but with the rainbow colors instead of just the blues and greens. I used Warm Blend for longarms as the batting. As for the bobbin thread, I used The Bottom Line Prewounds. Hey Shana- When I took in this quilt, My customer stressed "8 Stars of Gold in a Sky of Blue." I did\'nt get any pictures of the border, But what I did wasmake a template of the star blocks and Quilted 8 of them down each side border, then echoed in 1/4 inch until I couldn\'t echo anymore. everythng was quilted in the matching blue thread except the yellow points of the stars. She really wanted those to pop. Thanks again! Laura
quiltmonkey
I know the lady who designed this Alaska theme fabric line for Kaufmann. Carolyn Williams. She lives in Anchorage. I\'ve made several table runner/small wallhangings with this fabric!

xxooms
What a neat quilt! It screams Alaska...I also like the way the blue, if not denim, looks like it. The quilting just makes it even better, gives it another dimension.

Myrna Ficken
Laura, Fantastic, the circles are a great look. And the texture in the "Created Spaces" is perfect for the quilt. Isn\'t this kind of work fun! I am so proud of you:) It makes me smile to think you were in class not so long ago and your machine was not even set up. Now look at you! Hawaii
Gorgeous quilting, and perfect designwork for this quilt! You mentioned doing circles with the HF. Now I am truly excited about taking the HF class from Myrna at MQS. My fear of technical stuff, has kept my HF on the closet shelf. Thank you for posting! I am encouraged. Merryjo2003
Looks great! I love using curves with something geometric and straight. Really makes your eyes go back and forth from the peicing to the quilting. Nice job!
