Memaw Marilyn
Let me put my two cents worth out there. I love Christmas quilts, and that turned out so cute.... I guess a quilt that's not been quilted is kinda like me without any make-up on... I'd be proud of that quilt if I were you!! peglu
LOL, yes Bobbette, those are pins. If you read my previous post (rescued from the pitiful pile) you will understand the pins. Boy, you don't miss a thing . You can't see it in this pic, but I put some veins in the poinsetta leaves with metalic thread, and there is beading in the centers (done before quilting)

Bonnie
Sometimes the pitiful (ugly duck) pile is the swan pile...... I would say that I would hang this puppy up with pride. I have had a few like this as well....and they always make the efforts of quilts shine that much better.... WAY TO GO....
PattyJo
I agree with Bonnie B - Some of the quilts that aren't as beautiful as our minds thought they would be can turn out to be gems. This is a gem. And So Christmas"y". Hang it with pride then invite your DM over for a cuppa..LOL

quiltmonkey
Originally posted by peglu Ok, so here is the story. About 10 years ago I decided to try to applique. I had no idea what I was doing, so I got some double sided iron on, cut out my shapes, and ironed 'em on without trimming them. Yep, layered 'em right up. Then I threw the blocks into a quilt, again not knowing what I was doing. It turned out terrible. Everything is crooked, and the seams are all coming apart. And I pieced the whole thing in black thread. I asked my DM (an alteration shop owned) if she could fix it for me. Well, she told me it was the most pitiful thing she had ever seen and the best thing she could do with it was to give it a proper burial . Not sure why I kept it. Maybe because we had soo many laughs over it. Well, look at it now. Think I will send it to MOM. This is the before. (still struggling with pics) After is in a separate post. Sorry. I am glad you are sending it to DM (Mom) and show her the swan that grew from the ugly ducking. (acutally baby swans are called cygnets, not ducklings!) It's beautiful. Just beautiful.
