Laura Farnham
Worked on this one for quite some time. On and off the Frame several times. Tried Metallics for the first time and I really liked the results. Also used Renae's Amazing Rays. The customer loved the finished job. Have a Dragonfly Quilt to do for her next. Thanks For Looking! quiltmonkey
Oooooh! Lookie lookie! Laura, I really like what you did on the wing tips. Really cooooooool! I can see a wee bit of the rays in the background, but maybe you can get another closeup?
Laura Farnham
I McTavished all the "Color" of the Wings. Lots of starts and stops. As I said, It took quite some time, but the end results were worth it. The customer had made this as a wedding gift for a youg couple. Thanks again for looking. Laura Farnham
Hey Shana- Sorry, but those are the only shots I have of this particular quilt. The customer originally wanted Leaves in the green background, but they just didn't look right with the scale of the butterflies. I opted to go with the rays, and I extended them all the way out through the inner border out to the outer border. Being the First time using the Rays, It took me @ 2 hours to mark them out. The pictures don't do this one justice. The quilt was 111 x 118.

IBQLTN2
Laura wow that is a large quilt for applique. is that top picture just a part of it or is that the whole quilt. It looks like a great deal of work for sure and you did wonderfully. Personally I think sometimes we amaze ourselves at what we can do with these quilts when we really put our love, hearts and souls into them. Fantastic job!! I hope the newly weds love it as much as we do and appreciate all that goes into making a quilt of this caliber. Congatulations Jeanne
