SandraC
Sooo pretty!....but, never seen it before, sorry!
gaildrake
Is this a customers quilt, or did you purchase it? I really llike it too. It probably was a template pattern. If you come across how to construct it please share !!!!!
JoleneK
Its a customers quilt, ready to go on the table today. Just thought I'd do a little research before quilting. I'm going to put a feather down the scalloped border, so will feather the solid areas. Not 100% sure what I'll do in the 8 point triangle area. IBQLTN2
JOLENE I don't know the block either but sure do like the quilt. It leaves so much space for some really nice quilting. I think a continuous curve on the inside of the center and the triangles. Love the soft pastels it will be a beautiful piece of work once it is quilted. Bonnie
Jolene...the closest that I can come up with is in the Barbara Brackman Encycolpedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns; its on page 335 item number 2736b and is called Evening Star from the KC Star Newspaper published on November 28, 1931... The only difference is the corner wedges....in the book they are also pieced, where your customers is a solid piece...
hollyc
could check the www.quiltercache.com website. It looks like something from there. Love this website for all the free blocks.

carmen
Jolene, Could it have been made from EQ6 block library? I love this top. Enjoy quilting it! Carmen
Bonnie
Carmen...any block can be made from EQ6, but there are very few blocks that you can create that haven't already been created at a past date....an altered block as this one could very easily have been taked from an original block and hense the one in the quilt is created, but it still is an altered block....with a name, that is of course the question....now the new name may or may not be the same as the Evening Star, but I would bet originally it came from that block pattern. Chocoholic
It looks like a variation of a Kalidescope block (I think I spelled that wrong, but hopefully you know what I mean). Very neat way of doing that. In the kalidescope block, you don't have the points. So you may be right Bonnie, it was probably taken from Evening Star. AnnHenry
I don't use this term very often, but this is "a sweet quilt," and it will be beautiful when it's quilted.

Marlette
That's a really neat pattern and I like the open space "star pattern that it forms, almost like a 2nd block pattern. Bobbi, you and I were thinking alike! When I first saw it I thought it would make a great block for our 30's exchange! So, how many of these do you think we'll get? I'd like that on my to do list too. Let's see where's page 55? I know I put that no:Dtebook somewhere!
