LeeAnn
Here is a quilt that I pieced a couple years ago but waited until I had a longarm before quilting it. I used the RNS design boards and Hobbs heirloom wool batt. (I just love that stuff!) Thanks for looking.
April W
Lee Ann, It's beautifully done. I'm thinking I may have to check out the RnS Boards.
LeeAnn
I forgot to mention that it is 117X117 and the sampler blocks are 4". I really like the texture that the wool batt makes show up. I will use this batt again!
Guest LA
LeeAnn, Love this quilt, any traditional pattern speaks to my soul, timeless classic's!! I also LOVE wool batting, it should be in ALL quilts!

quiltmonkey
Oooh! This is very beautiful and such a nice visual effect with the baptist fan design. The muted colors play nicely together. And, I really love the sampler blocks in between the courthouse steps. Very very pretty.
LeeAnn
Kim, They are boards that a stylus follows. Here is their website. http://rns-design.com Hope that helps.

ramona-quilter
LeeAnn - this came out beautiuflly. I love fans on traditional quilts. You chose the perfect pattern. So how do you like those RNS boards?
Dib
Ok, I have been putting off getting the boards! This has make my mind up for me! Beautiful job!
Hollyrw
Excellent! The baptist fan is a perfect choice for that quilt. I just love my R&S and Quilt-EZ boards.
LeeAnn
Linda, I really liked them. I did have a problem getting them to line up so they wouldn't overlap but I decided (on the second to last row) that my machine was butting against the quilt on the take up bar when at the bottom of the boards and so not letting the machine stitch as close to the previous row as it should. When I put a yardstick below the boards, thus moving them away from the back of the table, my machine didn't come close to the quilt on the take up bar. Much better. Learn by doing. It was driving me crazy while I was quilting but it looked much better after I got it off the machine. Don't most mistakes? And I only had 2 boards so had to leap frog them down the quilt as I was quilting. If you have 4 boards you wouldn't have to do this. I was going to say I was pretty cheap but I do have an expensive machine to quilt my quilts with!!! Oh well.
Primitive1
Lee Ann, I also think that wool batting is the way to go, just love how light it is and it quilts up so nicely! I love your quilt, the colors are wonderful and the quilting is just perfect for it! Great Job! Vicki
LeeAnn
Thanks, Vicki. I love the wool too! I just wanted to add that I have a Gammil and I think the bar configuration is a little different than an APQS.
Boni
Are all those sampler blocks different? I estimated 36, right? and they are just on the top center? Can't quite see how you did the borders--very nice arrangement. That's a huge project. And it is an heirloom! Beautiful.
countrystitcher
This is very, very beautiful, you did an excellent job on it. I also have used the wood batting and will use it in my quilts, but customer's seem to cringe at the price - some will use it on special quilts I'm sure. Robin
I love that quilt. So traditional. The baptist fan choice is perfect. I checked out the RNS site and am going to order some of their boards. They seem to be more affordable than others that I have seen. Thanks for the info!
