PattyJo
Merete - what beautiful quilts. I like the CC's in the star quilt and as for the sampler, I've always treated each block separately. I would try and use simular motifs throughout all the blocks so that it stays consistant. CC's in the geese and SID around sashings. Just some ideas. I'm sure someone else has some different ideas. Quilting Heidi
Merete, What pretty quilts you get! For the 2nd quilt oh there are so many options. I would SID the blocks and let them speak mostly for themselves, adding in cc's to fill or feathers here and there but like Patty Jo said something to pull them all together. I would stipple down the background so that the piecing really stands out. There are lots of options in the flying geese. You can use cross hatching, feathers or even a swirly design in the borders depending on the style the customer wants. I would use a lot of swirly type designs to make it move. The sky is the limit on this one.
Sheri Butler
Merete, Love the 1st quilt's quilting! Looks like 3 thread color changes, but so worth it! 2nd quilt: Those sampler idea books/DVD's are awsome. I'd do ea block different!
jmcclannan
WOW! I can't wait to see what you do with the second one. I love it but I think I would be overwhelmed trying to figure out what to do on it. It looks like it's beautifully pieced.
dtreusch
Do you have Deloa's sampler book? It is full of so many great ideas you could use on the second quilt. The first one looks wonderful!! Good choices on the quilting.

Renae
I really like what you are doing on the first quilt........great curves. The second one I would do like the girls suggest......let each block talk to you because it is a sampler. DeLoa's book would be a great place to start for ideas. Can't wait to see them when you're finished. Great quilts and your quilting will make them shine!
quiltmonkey
Merete, the 2nd quilt gives you some great opportunities to do some fun creative designs in the sashing and corner stones and flying geese! Please share a photo of your finished result. PS: I think what you are doing in the hand-pieced diamonds is PERFECT!!

sspingler
Beautiful quilts!! I'll take them both! For samplers, when in doubt, I do a lot of CC and feathers or leaves.

Lauras
Are those free hand (instead of stitch in the D) curves, or do you use some sort of ruler for that? I love what you've done with that first one.
RitaR
I love red, white and blue, and your work is always pretty.. I agree with the gals on the sampler, to each block, it's own.. and the first is looking wonderful.
