quiltermidwife
Connie Travelling by air you have to travel light. I have spent today packing, unpacking, packing again, unsure of what to bring, will it be hot, will it be cold..................................... I will definitely be casual. Heidi One more for dinner on Thursday. My husband is on business in NYC and will fly down to spend the last two days with me before we head back to the UK. Don't worry he is very used to socialising with the quilting gals. Ask those at MQS!! Thanks

Sandra Darlington
Hi Connie, The train sounds pretty good, and we could have fun on the ride, but I have my plane tickets. I may consider the train for next year, though. See you in a few days. Sandy PS-I love my jeans, too.

Sandra Darlington
Hey Matt, you don't look like the evening gown type. LOL
Gator
Jeans, yaaaaaaaaa! Went and bought two new very large suitcases today, my old ones have had it (airlines). Chris you're right the weather sucks for picking out clothes. Anyway, the Virginia girls are all ready to meet the train bright and early Monday morning. See you all soon!!!!!!!! Quilting Heidi
It is supposed to be low to mid 60's in NY so that will mean RI is probably going to be pretty close to that next week. Evenings are still getting down into the 30's so if you're going out you'll need a jacket. Sounds like we'll be able to stay in though since it is connected to the Westin. Kim Lisa (NJgirl) & guest Meg Anne Lisa (Lisalnewman) & guest 26 I think that is it. Let me know if I missed anybody and I'll revise!
DB
Heidi, Thank you for posting the list. I was going to post one at the end of today, you saved me some time. I've been keeping a hand written list by the computer and jotting down more names as people join in. The only one missed is Lisa (N.J.) is bringing a friend. So far we are up to 26 people! I plan on waiting till Wed and then going over there and giving them the final head count. I am so looking forward to this. I think this will be fun meeting so many chatters. Everyone attending, this is not a fancy resturant. Casual, jeans are fine. One night of the week they have college night for students. How fancy can that be? Quilting Heidi
Dianne, OK I just updated the list again. Thanks for making all the arrangements so that we can all benefit from it. What did you put the reservation under?
DB
Heidi, The reservation is under my name. I had to secure the space with a credit card because there are so many of us. I plan to stroll over there on Wed to make sure that we have a big enough area and give them a final number. They were not aware of MQX when I called but I would imagine being next to a convention center this is a piece of cake for them. I plan on getting there a few minutes early on Thurs and will let the person at the door know that this is a quilting group from APQS chat since most of us won't recognize each other. My classes start tomorrow. Can't wait. Dianne
Quilting Heidi
Dianne, Sounds great! Should be lots of fun. Have fun in your classes tomorrow. Charlotte and I will be driving in on Wed. I'll be checking emails. I was sad to hear how much it cost perday for Internet but I'll have to check work emails so I might as well use it for all it is worth!!! Sent you a u2u too! njquiltergirl
Heidi and Dianne, Thanks for organizing all this. It will be such fun to see us all together!! Let me be sure I have the details right: Thursday night, 7:00...Fire & Ice restaurant, between the convention center and the Westin...in a buuilding that connects it all together. I'm leaving my laptop home. Hitting the road Tuesday at 10 am...see you all soon. Can't wait! Quilting Heidi
Lisa yes that is right. I'm sure the Westin will be able to tell you exactly how to find Fire & Ice.
quiltermidwife
Heidi We found the cost for internet (Westin) is only a couple more dollars if you pay for a month, much much cheaper than paying the daily rate. Doesn't make any sense I know but that's what my husband told me.
Quilting Heidi
Chris I couldn't find a monthly rate on the website. I wish I could use hubby's card but that would break the rules! I'll just pay for it and surf all I want.

Matt Sparrow
Internet is 9.99 a day. There's a couple free wifi spots, one in the Lobby and the other on the 2nd floor. I'm picking up a free downtown wi-fi from my room but terrible signal
