Suzie W.
I was at a quilt show this weekend and bought a large spool of Fil-tec Glide thread. It was at the Innova booth. It is 100 % polyester. It has a nice shine to it and has a nice feel. Any opinions on it and how does it quilt up?
Sheri Butler
I'm hearing nothing the 100% positive things about glide. It's on my to get list if they are in Des Moines at AQS in 2 weeks.

connieb
I've had my Lenni for a month now and the glide thread and I are getting along beautifully. I use magna glide bobbins and have even used a super bob. No troubles
Guest Linda S
Glide is DA BOMB! If you really want something to get you excited, try their magna glide bobbins. I haven't had tension this perfect with so little effort before. Linda
uncquilter
Sounds fabulous. Where do you purchase? Carol
srichardson
Carol, Here is the link http://www.bobbincentral.com/Default.asp You will need to set up log in information to access the pricing. I don't know if Filtec still sends out free samples when you register. I got a nice little surprise package when I first registered. I love the Magna Glide bobbins and the Glide thread. GrandmaLKB
I just hate it when I have to wind my own bobbin with a color that I don't have in the Magna Glide. I am so spoiled with those bobbins. Love the Glide thread and their Affinity (varigated), too. I bought some Premo Soft, but haven't tried it yet. PattyJo
I used Glide thread top and bottom in the quilt that was in Innovations this last week. On the Judges comments - "Tension is Excellent". That cemented the fact that I will be a Glide girl from now on. That was not the case before. I was always tweeking the tension & had problems. Bekah - Whenever I've ordered from Fil-Tec, it has never taken 2 weeks. Maybe you hit a 3 day weekend or something when you ordered. It only took about 5 to 6 working days for an order to get to the west coast. And that is about the same time as other East Coast businesses I've ordered from. Corey
I love those threads and magna glide bobbins. If I have my way, I'll use it exclusively. My tension problems seem to disappear overnight. I was introduced to this thread when Karen Mctavish gave the workshop in Julian, CA. Merry Jo Rembolt was our hostess and she has been trying to convince us for a while about this fabulous thread. Corey
RoseCity Quilter
I was just checking out the bobbin central sight and decided to try and order but changed my mind when it calculated $30+ for shipping to Canada. Anywhere else carry it? PS that was for a very small trail order.
Suzie W.
Thanks everyone! I used the thread yesterday and it looks beautiful. I am so lucky that the dealer I bought it from lives only an hour away--think I will be paying them a visit.
PattyJo
Suzie, you can also order direct from Fil-Tec and save on the gas expense. Their shipping inside the USA isn't that bad at all. Cheaper than a tank of gas.
uncquilter
Sue, Thanks for the link. I only see the bobbins in about 4 colors. Am I looking in the wrong place perhaps? Carol
GrandmaLKB
They are working on more colors in the Magna Glide Classic bobbins. They used to have a whole line, but there was some problem and they had to discontinue all but those shown. They do have more colors in the other bobbins and we are all waiting and hoping that the Classics come back with more colors. I had only used the white, cream, tan, dark gray and light gray and never had any trouble. I had no experience with the other colors. They were taken off the site before I could try them. Gator
I'm a dedicated glide quilter. Love the thread and especially the pre-wound bobbins. The bobbins work great with Superior's LAVA thread also, just finished a large baby quilt and the tension was perfect. Check their site, it's usually cheaper to buy from the source. They have a lot of "shipping free" on weekend orders. I'm about to try their perma-soft thread and bobbins for those that want the "cotton" touch. I tested their monofiliment recently (pre-wound bobbin). Worked great on my DSM but the plastic spool was a bit to thick for "Gator".
Wannabelongarm
Ardelle: I have sent a U2U as I don't live far from Camrose and have ordered some thread. Joanne, aka Wannabelongarm
srichardson
Hi Carol, As Linda mentioned there are some issues right now with the Classic colours. There are almost fifty colours in their Delights line of bobbins. The thread is heavier than in the original but the colours are the same as the Glide thread unlike the Classic colours. IBQLTN2
I got free samples just from going on the website and I just tried it tonight for the first time and it looks and works great no tension problems whatsoever and the stitches are beautiful as usual on my Lenni
