Pennyquilts
Pa Mt. Laurel in bloom. We were on a trail ride today and came across them. This is a very rare and wonderful sight. We saw white ones and some very rare pink ones. It is such a thrill to see them in bloom.

Terri C.
Beautiful. Isn't it nice when we slow down long enough to see the beauty that surrounds us.
Pennyquilts
Wouldn't have seen them at all if it hadn't been for being on horse back.

Susan Grady
What a beautiful scene. And, to have been on horseback makes it a double treat. You must have felt so renewed when you returned.

Sandra Darlington
Beautiful. I used to have Mt Laurel growing all around the house I lived in as a kid, but it was in NJ, not PA.
Gator
Oh Penny, thank you for the wonderful memories. I grew up in the mountains around Gettysburg and remember the Mountain Laurel and Honeysuckle in the Spring and Summer. The "woods" smelled so alive. I feel sick as Virginia Beach is determined to mow down every tree in the city and build "ugly" buildings. Our wild life doesn't have a chance. Stagecl
Connie, If you could, you could move to Goochland County...their object is to stay more rural! But we'll see what happens. You'd have to work in Henrico or Richmond. Being rural doesn't mean jobs...oh ...and no ocean, but lots of trees and wildlife! Now to keep the deer and rabbits out of the veggie garden:o
sharni
I saw some of these in a friend's yard in California. They smelled so good. Unfortunately it is too cold and dry for them where I live. Thanks for sharing them with us.
Gator
Cheryl, I would love to live in the mountains/rural area again. I'm not a beach person so I could do without the ocean. I have 27 years of ocean in the Navy. The only thing keeping me in VA Beach is my job and hubbys.
