ffq-lar
One of my customers traveled to Japan with her quilt group to visit the wonderful Japanese quilt shows and to stimulate the economy there! She found some Kimono silk fabric scrap bundles and bought enough for this cute quilt. There are many fabrics used, some tiny trims, hand-embroidered faces, and lots of detail. There was also a lot of stiff fused fabric. She bought additional "gee-gaws" to use as embellishments--bone and jade buttons, tassels, tiny padded "pillows" made with silk and about the size of a dime, gold charms, etc. It will be great to see it finished. She has entered it in our guild show next week so I can get a finished photo then. Thread--Monolon and Bottomline. Batting--QD wool. Quilting--SID all the sashings, outline all the applique with some stitching inside, tiny stipple in the blocks, and straight-line diamonds in the border. Thanks for looking--come see this one in person if you are in the area October 7th or 8th!
