witha'K'quilting
Need I say more? Practices are cancelled, the bonfire is cancelled, hopefully the parade isn't cancelled. I don't see how this is going to be any fun at all for the kids. It is very cold too! Much too early for Winter to start...since it just ended in late June! lisae
We got a good dose of it, too! It is only 41 degrees here at 3:30 p.m. I haven't heard if homecoming has been affected. Gotta love fall in the high desert!

KarenH
I guess when I think of Nevada I think hot! My nephew lives in Henderson, so I didn't think you would get that kind of cold!! Hope it doesn't last and the sun comes out! By the way I like your new avatar.

alnaquilts
Here in MN we are having abnormally warm temps for fall-in the 80's, sunny, and beautiful with colorful leaves falling on the ground. Can you tell fall is my favorite season? Of course MN winter will be here before we are ready for it!
Primitive1
Snow? Really? It is just beautiful here in VA - and our leaves are just starting to turn....
Boni
It's damp and cold here. I'm tempted to turn on the furnace but I never usually turn it on before Nov 1. I may turn it on just to dry out the house a little. Snow? Hmmmmm...there was a dusting on Mt. Hood this week....hmmmm maybe an early ski season? YES! jclark
Snow for Easter and snow for homecoming almost every year here in Montana. Didn't snow on homecoming this year, amazing.
mountainquilter
Rain, cold, dreary, spitting snow yesterday. Today it is cold but the mountains are covered with beautiful white snow showing against the Colorado blue skies. I don't think anyone will be climbing Mt. Elbert today! Too much snow up there now. It was 22 degrees when I got up this morning. Diana
IBQLTN2
Brrr seems to early for snow anywhere. Not sure I would be too happy about that either. Football season does mean cold weather and snow though so I guess it can put you in the spirit of Football season real quick
JustSewSimple
When I was i high school we would wear borrowed mink coats to wear atop our gowns. We were delighted when it was cold during home coming. Now days the girls wear sleeveless dresses and it is burning hot in the stands. I hope you all can enjoy the time anyway. Actually, a bonfire sounds delightful!!!
Dave-Jane
We are having a beautiful week - great color and warm. But we know the cold and snow will come!!
On Pins and Needles
I heard on the news yesterday it had snowed on Mt. Rainier and the last of last winters snow only melted 43 days ago. Now, our weather here at sea level is quite different than the weather in the mountains, but this still paints a clear picture of the miserable summer we had. witha'K'quilting
I have uploaded many pictures of Taylor from her dance last night onto my blog. Check her out. She had a great time. http://froggybottomquilting.blogspot.com/2011/10/homecoming-dance.html It is a good thing the dance was last night...as she just finished a varsity soccer game...and she is beat up! Bloody, swollen lip, and both knees are scraped badly. Turf can really do a number on you...as can rough opponents! We are proud of her none the least. Her team lost...but played hard. jeri
ewww snowing!! it's 85 here in the KC area. Worked outside most of the day -- hobbling around on a sprained ankle. Trying to get things done before the snow does fly here.
