JustSewSimple
I have a quilt here (the center is a panel) that is 73X64. There are 7 borders. Here are their sizes from left to right: 1.5 inches 2.5 4.25 2.5 4.5 2.5 5.
Wannabelongarm
Oh my, nothing is ever simple is it??? I would do the same pattern in the brown, or a similar theme, and in the patterned, not sure -- what is in the rest of the quilt and what are you doing? How busy do you want it to be I might be tempted to combine several together. Maybe a pic of the quilt will generate other designs. Sheri Butler
Holy S *******! Uuuh, what's the panel look like?
JustSewSimple
The panel is an Owl sitting in a tree and there are flowers like the one in the last sashing strip growing below the tree.
quietlifeaz
Funky daisy design in the flower border? (maybe repeated in the check border) wavy line down the middle of the dot border
LadyLake
I wonder if you could do bubble quilting in one of the borders. I was thinking about the owl's eyes, and you could group 2 bubbles together kind of like eyes and then move on to the next set of 2 bubbles. Sorry! That's the best I can think of right now.
doodlebug
does the customer want a different pattern in each border? cause there is so much border that by quilting them all differently it could very easily over power the owl panel....if it were up to me, i'd do a nice semi-dense texture E2E to tie it all together..... if it was requested to do them as a custom- i'd do the same design in the wide print borders and the same design in the solid brown, keeping it all simple...i'd treat that first skinny border the same as the panel... JustSewSimple
It is custom but she doesn't care what I do. I think I have the idea now! Thanks everybody. Thanks Doodles for the drawings.

Sheri Butler
I too thought of the ribbon candy, or the lacie loopy thing in the brown. Do great minds think alike? LOL!
Quilting Heidi
I had one like that. It is a bear to figure it out and a relief when you do. I would do the same treatment in the dark brown and then pick something that goes with the center panel in the rest of them. Be sure to post finished picks. Kueser
Dawn taught me how to do a background filler that looks like owl eyes. It could be put at least one of the borders.
