Modern Quilt quilting

Recommended Posts

My customer and I collaborated on the chosen designs for this mod quilt. The original from the pattern had dense straight-line quilting about an eighth of an inch apart--in every area. She asked for a less-dense treatment and wanted the water filler on the gray background. It was easy to stitch with some marking and care with the spacing. The plain block design I call a Jetson's Overall but it's a panto by Denise Schillinger called Modern Square. I like that my customer wanted more movement and several designs on this quilt. She gave me 100% cotton batting and I used So Fine on the gray and Madeira invisible thread on all the colors.

Thanks for looking!

Love the texture!  I think I am getting sucked to the "light side"!  I am loving most things modern! However, my studio is full of dark prints and "old" fabrics.  Oh dang, I have to by new!  I wish I had customers who like the modern look.  Most of my customers are very traditional.  Thanks for sharing Linda.
