Quilting Grammy
I took my "Across the Wide Missouri" quilt to the local quilt show and was plesently surprised. I won a blue ribbon, they don't have different catigories and it is judged by all the visiters that come through. Grand Prize went to a hand quilted quilt. GMALKB
I think getting votes from the viewers and a blue ribbon mean more than by professional judges...........you never know what the judges will like, but the public knows what it likes . Congratulations.
Oma
I love it. Did you have a pattern? I'd love to know the name. It deserved it's ribbon.

Quilting Grammy
Okay not sure what is going on but can't like all your comments individually so thank you for all your encouragement and congratulations. To answer a few questions the name of the quilt "Across the Wide Missouri" is the name of the book that the quilt was made from by Edie McGinnis and Jan Patek published by Kansas City Star Quilts. I did take some liberties and added in some hand work just because I like doing it. I was just playing and having fun with the quilting and actually used two 80/20 battings because I wanted my quilting to show and that's what I had with no money to buy a wool batting. It is a fun quilt to do.
