AbigailE
Ok, I'll ask, what did you use to make your great CH, and what did you use in the center, a free motion, or panto? Inquiring minds what to know how you achieved such a great finish!
lindasewsit
Abigail! Thanks!! I used Linda Rech's Cross hatching rulers on the border....LOVE THEM!!! and I just freehanded the leaves and swirls. linda

nora123
Hi Linda, I know this won't help for this quilt but I ordered the double bubble design board from R&S Designs. They work with the designer.I am picking it up on wednesday at innovations. It is a great design but I cannot follow a panto to save my life so I buy templates. I have already got a customer who wants this design so I am looking forward to using it on her quilt. I love boards. lindasewsit
Nora, Hi! I do not have a CL or any of the board things.... can I use these R&S boards by themselves? How do you use them? What do you follow them with? I think I might have wasted my $ buying the double bubble panto....that thing is HARD!!! I don't think there is anyway I will ever be able to follow that one to make it look good! I have done pantos with pretty much good results....but certainly not the double bubble!! Thanks for the info! linda

Well,,,,,I just got done frogging my first start on the row.... It is not as easy as I thought, ............. You should see my efforts on this panto:P. I am glad I am not the only one with square circles (or squares that look like circles)!! Nice job with the the all over. Regards,
ckeindl
Beautiful! Do you "turn" the quilt to cross-hatch the sides? Or quilt as you go - and if you quilt as you go, what is your path? Thanks for sharing!
lindasewsit
Hi Cathy! I did not turn this quilt. I just did the CH as I went. I did the inside leafy thing first, then did both sides of the border, then moved on down the quilt. does that make sense?
ckeindl
yes, that makes sense, it's just that if you can only do a "section" of the side border at a time, do you stop at the beginning or ending of a line? if you were to crosshatch the entire area from rail to rail, there would be stops and starts in the center of the lines? I will try to attach a "drawing" of what I'm trying to ask. Thanks!
pfrost
Very nice quilting job. Crosshatching in the borders added a lot of interest to a simple pieced pattern. Good job of all-over meandering, too. This quilt will make a beautiful wedding gift. Thanks for sharing the completed project. LinneaMarie
Hi Cathy............I'm not Linda, but I would do the CH like the drawing on the left; easier to hide stops and starts;) Just MHO.

lindasewsit
Cathy. Hi again! I start and stop the CH on the outside edge of the border. when I came to the inside, (beside the quilt ) I just stitched in the ditch to the next part of the CH. With Linda R's CH rulers, I do all one way THEN do all the other way. Does THAT help? linda:)
