This quilt was a UFO...I took a workshop at a LQS a few years back just to spend the day with friends...didn't much like the project itself. I came home with some of the rail fence and the other patchwork blocks which went into hibernation for a few years. I pulled the blocks out last year, came up with a new setting and added the applique fan & scroll shapes which I saw in a quilt on the cover of Quilters Newsletter some time ago. It's machine applique with buttonhole stitching in a 28 weight thread. It's pretty heavily quilted with Superior's 100 weight silk thread.
