Della
Hi....done...lol In the end I only had to take two tucks....and if I thought it would have looked better without them, I would not have done them...lol The design in the blocks was chosen by the customer...the rest was me. I thought the feathers would help eat up some of the excess and they did...but too much was just too much. The two close up pictures show the tucks. Next time, if I think there are going to have to be tucks, I will try to do them before hand!
Heritage Keepsakes
That is beautiful. Love the feathers.
Judy Bland
What tucks?? I don't see any tucks, you know the rule, if you can't see 'em from 3 feet away, well they're just not there. Your beautiful quilting will be the focus anyway, shame she didn't want something a little more decorative in the blocks.
chrisquilter
I don't see no stinkin' tucks! :D:D Great job!
Della
Thanks, Judy Bee. I thought the same thing about the design but she thought if I did a lot of quilting it would not be pliable enough and she wanted a "summer" quilt.

Sandra Darlington
Very pretty quilting and the tucks just look like a pieced border section, nothing objectionable. I really like the feathers in your border. Did you use a tool for the spine?
pmuntz
Ok - I give up - where are the tucks?
Della
hehehe...they look kind of like a seam but they are noticable to me...lol Sandra, I just draw a half heart and then a little space and another half heart...that is for the corners...then do a curve from one of the existing feather. I just quilt one feather at a time and them make the next curve. I use Crayola chalk to make my marks....works pretty good. I hope it is not hard on my machine! Sandra Darlington
So, do your 1/2 hearts then go in opposite directions? Any chance you could draw a picture?

WestieMom
Wow, what a great save. The tucks really aren't noticeable and I would not have noticed them if you didn't point it out. The quilt turned out lovely! The back looks really cool!
