Boni Posted October 3, 2012 Author Report Share Posted October 3, 2012 Well, I did it. And it looks almost round in the center! DH helped me hang it and I think we should have turned it the other way. It's a bit of a rectangle and it would have fit a little better since my hanger is 6 inches lower than the ceiling down here. There are things I would do different if I did another one...heaven forbid. I learned that some motifs work better than others and I don't like line-dancing. The pebbling was fun although monotonous; the meandering was quick and challenging, and putting little motifs in the applique was nerve wrecking. I desired to nail it down and I think I accomplished that. I just hope Lady is pleased and not disappointed there is so much quilting in this one. It needed it to beat it into submission. I already warned her that the borders are not straight and there are wobbles, but she didn't seem to mind. She's coming Friday to pick it up. I have until then to let it hang for my own admiration and pictures. She did this quilt back in the 80's and it was her first applique quilt. She is planning to give it to her grandchildren. With all this quilting it should last a few more years. Thank you all for your encouraging words and ideas. Learn with me as you peruse the pictures and make judgements about what is good and what needs improvement. Remember that not too long ago I was afraid of hand guiding...now I'm not so much.
