chickenscratch
I'm finally feeling better and thought I'd post some pictures of the last one I did. It is definitely the best I've ever done. The feathers just set the pinwheels spinning.

Jeanette
Absolutely fantastic!!! You have no fear of feathers for sure. My next quilt up is a log cabin and I am going to steal your \'pinwheel\' and try those feathers. I would never have thought of using that pinwheel pattern for them. chickenscratch
I used variegated purple thread on top and lilac purple in the bobbin. My son helped me make a melon shaped template out of plastic to establish the spines of the feathers. The blocks are 16" each. Everything is done freehand, with no marking, except the melon shaped feather spines. It has been on the from for a couple of weeks, but I\'ve been sick and haven\'t worked on it much. I\'d say, all together, probably, 10 or 12 hours total. It is 86 x 100.
