Dyan
Wow! I love that! I really like doing pantos and some of the designs really go with the quilt patterns. You just have to search for the right design! (I am not very good at custom quilting.) I think you will really like this when you are finished! Della
That is very pretty panto. I have never done one but look like you are doing a great job with it!
whitepinesquilter
Queenie, It gets easier, promise! I think most of us had issues with nice rounded edges when we started with pantos. And, honestly? I like the look of your panto stitched out with the strong colors and directional prints/animal prints. I think it looks very fitting! Nice for your first time! ffq-lar
You'll like it better when you finish and hang it up. I like the dark thread on the white--with the animal prints it's a nice contrast and softens the starkness of white/white with the busy prints. I call that type of quilting an "overlay"--which adds a layer of interest and I think can really elevate a geometric design. And the customer gets a bonus in having a gorgeous reversible quilt. You did good, Queenie!
Guest Linda S
It looks really good to me - you did a great job following the pattern. I for one am not a big fan of such contrasting thread. It's not wrong - some people love it - but I think the stark contrast just upsets something in our brain that says it's too much. I'll bet that if you had used a more blendable color, it wouldn't bother you at all. That said, I still think it looks like you did a great job. Heritage Keepsakes
Queenie, it looks really lovely! I love how it has stitched out on the top and back.
WestieMom
I think it looks great! Give it a chance. Everything looks better if you walk away from it for a while then go back and look at it with fresh eyes.
Quilting Heidi
Wait until you take it off the frame. I'll bet you like it then. When you use a highly contrasting thread every little bobble jumps out at you when on the frame but when it is off it usually looks great.
Enchanted Quilting
For whatever reason, there are few quilts I like when I am actually quilting them...partly I think it's the bright (harsh) lights we use to work. You will love it once it is off the frame.
K. Szymaszek
Your doing a great job. Don't second guess yourself, believe in yourself and keep moving forward.Your only going to get better and better.
Dustee
Queenie, Wow!! for your first panto it looks like you are doing a great job! I am with the rest of the girls, I think once you get it off the frame you will like it alot better. I haven't tried a panto yet, but when I do I hope it looks as good as yours. I have a tight space and can't get to the back side of my machine. I am waiting for my new quilt studio to get finished.
mamu
I think it looks great....and for your first panto you certainly pick a harder one to do, but are doing a wonderful job with it. Sometimes when I do panto's I don't always like them when I first start out, after I finish and lay them out,,,everything seems to fit into place and looks nice...I think you will really like this when you are done. witha'K'quilting
i too like the panto in darker thread on this quilt. it looks great.
PattyJo
I also like the contrasting thread. And as Linda R said, it's like an overlay of thread (almost like a lace) over the straight line piecing in the quilt. I think your stitching makes that quilt - Keep going Queenie, it's a good thing. lym95
It looks great! If this is a quilt to be used then once it is washed and does a little shrinking (depends on batting, and whether fabric was pre-washed) then you will not notice the bobbles on the backside. Keep going!!
whitepinesquilter
I was just going to mention how much it will all come together especially when you rinse or wash and dry the quilt and Marjorie beat me to it - you will probably just stand back and look at it and smile..... and smile..... and smile!
