witha'K'quilting
Here is a quilt I finished for a friend's new grandbaby. I think black and white is great for babies...so I made this one. I did a large stipple type meander, then went back and added feathers to it. Can't really see them from the front...but the back has a neat look. The backing is black smooth minkee. I will bind it in the multicolor floral print.
anita
Nice job, Kristina. I like that look of the feathers...often the back is as interesting as the front is. And I love the green with black and white. Anita
IBQLTN2
very nice kristina it shows up all your feathers very nicely on the black minkie. very freeing to just be able meander your way around here a feather, there a feather, here a swirl, there a swirl. looks like you had fun doing it too. Very impressive.

Sandra Darlington
Kristina, it looks so nice! Did you have any issues with the Minkee? I used it on my domestic, but not on my Liberty yet. Some people seem to have some issues, others none. It looks perfect. I love those feather meanders; so much fun to do.

sewlinzi
Great baby quilt and nice funky feathers - I wonder if my F phobia could cope with those...
witha'K'quilting
Sandra...the minkee did not cause any troubles for me. I pinned the selvage edges to the leaders and made certain NOT to overtighten the minkke while quilting. In fact...this sandwich felt rather loose to me. But, it worked. It is holding its shape well off the frame...so I must have done somethng right. Linzi...I like the funky feathers better than the smooth ones. When I get in a tight spot, I just use whatever fits and keep quilting. No stress for me. I am going to bind the quilt and give it to the new parents tomorrow. Hope they love it.
