JustSewSimple
No, it is really an old, old tool used by us dressmakers. This is a pleater. Pull on it and it opens in the same increments. This is a great tool in quilting to take the math out of marking identical measurements across a space. They are not expensive and may can help save you some time. Haven't used it since I quit doing cakes, I will have to dig it out and repurpose it. Thanks for the idea!

mrmquilt
You are great, I have one of these somewhere from my clothes making days. When I was sewing they were sold as a button hole gauge. Isn't it great how one tool can be used for so many things. Thanks so much for the tip, might have to actually clean my sewing room to find it. JustSewSimple
That is my 30s quilt on the frame and I already wish I had started a bit differently. I may have to frog about 4 small areas to make myself happier. Quilting from the front is fun but hard!
Jhend
Linda Lawson mentioned this tool on LA chat a few weeks back and I completely forgot about it. I'm going to have to run to JoAnn's on my lunch to see it they have them there. Thanks.

Love what you are doing so far on your 1930's quilt. Yes working from the front of the machine is harder, but so much fun. countrystitcher
I've been looking for one of these for over a year. A LA friend says she uses it constantly for her cross-hatching. Okay, now that we've found them at Hancocks, will they do a reorder so we all can get them?? Sharon
jmyhogan
I hope that you will post a photo of the quilt when you finish. I think this is another of those "gotta have" tools.
