Joy
Hi just wondering What varigated threads does everyone Use my customers wants me to use it all the time? And where is the cheapest place to buy it from Thanks
Busy Quilting
Rainbows, King Tut . Definitely not from Vic Textiles. Hopefully you have a wholesale account with Superior Threads in Utah. Wonderfil threads also have a variegated which I haven't tried yet. The Aussie supplier is based in NZ but I think there was a dealer setting up in Melbourne. That info would be on the Quilting Australia yahoo group file. Deb2bie
Yup, Rainbows and King tut are my "go to" threads. I would use them all the time if I could. Some quilts aren't right for it.
mswings
I love King Tut. We had David Taylor speak at our guild and he uses Sulky. He said he likes it because its color change is not every inch like King Tut is. He says it changes at different lengths. I love his work. His Chickadee is probably my favorite. GrandmaLKB
I like Lava from Superior...........Their So Fine #40 is a variegated too, but I haven't tried it. Affinity from Fil-Tec is nice. I don't have much luck with King Tut or Rainbows although they have beautiful colors and many choices.
quiltmonkey
I'm an EEO thread employer. I use King Tut, Rainbows, Valdani, YLI, Lava, Pixels, anything! I see that So Fine is now in variegated colors!!!

chrisquilter
Rainbow from Superior Threads. It plays well with my machine! I am not fond of King Tut. I really like a finer thread. It looks like I will have to look into Lava soon though. So Fine is my go to thread overall so I am really happy to see that it is available in variegated colors. Tamarack
I started using Lava a few months ago and love it! No breakage like what I have experienced with Rainbows and King Tut. I use So Fine a lot as well and am looking forward to trying the variegated colours soon too.
Sandra Darlington
I like Rainbows, SoFine varigated and Signature cotton varigated. I love the look of Tutt, but it is a PITA for me, although sometimes I persevere until I get the tension OK, but usually I pass on it to avoid the frustration. Guest Linda S
I very rarely use variegated thread. They are so beautiful on the cone, but unless they are used on a more open border design or overall (panto) they get thready and messy looking (especially when you have to backtrack). I have some and I occasionally use it, but I discourage most folks from using it. When I do, it's generally Superior's King Tut.
Anne from Guam
I like variegated thread on solids, so that all the variations really show. I have used King Tut, but it would be nice to try some of the others too...
Della
I have only used one...King Tut. Love the colors that I bought. I am a "newby" but found the King Tut really linty...don't know if that just goes with the territory or not...but loved the way it looked quilted!
