Merryjo2003
Did a few customer quilts and slapped the black Kona back on! I decided to use crystals for the gold instead of thread. Hmmmm....I really need to get more customer quilts this month so I stop with this nonsense! It's just so fun to see what you can come up with. I needed some examples for a class I'm teaching that would be fairly easy. These are about 22 inches square. http:// http://

Butterfly
They do look like a lot of fun to make! That last one has a sweet face....no attitude. Lol. Is the bright blue some sort of paint or is it thread? Jess

Is the bright blue some sort of paint or is it thread? Jess It's all thread, except for the crystals. I used a varigated turquiose. I think it was Signature (of which I only have a couple of cones). It was just the right color. The royal blue is Fil-tec Glide. Love that thread. I like the shine. I just pull out whatever is the right color, regardless of brand. Sometimes there are many different ones. (My wood ducks had over 30 colors of thread on them, probably 5 different brands. ) I just love fooling around and trying new stuff. I would like to learn how to actually use paint as an embellishment. I need a class or book or something.

I think they are my favorite duck. I want to do a wood duck wildlife painting one of these days if I can ever get my hobbies prioritized.

Merryjo2003
Here's a pic of the wood ducks. It was a panel that I thread painted very densely, like embroidery. It was a queen size with the panel in the middle. http:// http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l190/merryjo2003/Ducks5.jpg[/img]"]http://

Chocoholic
Love the peacocks (the wood ducks are also great). I want to practice thread painting soon, but just don't seem to find the time. The kitchen, living room, dining room, entry remodel is almost finished so maybe I'll have more time then. Sure!!
