sewhappy
Actually what I mean is...What do you do to de-stress? Sewhappy
raggie
I knit, crochet, read, look at quilting magazines and/or books, and piece tops to de-stress. I have to say though, since I'm retired I don't get stressed as much as I used to when I was working. Becky
Quilting Heidi
Good idea to start a new thread Sewhappy! I'm with Bonnie. I usually go to my therapy room...my quilting studio. I either quilt, draft, sew or some combination there of. It really is my therapy. You should see me stitch on a bad day!

LauraJ
I love what Bonnie said, "fondle fabrics". Isn't it fun? Must be some latent connection to our baby blankets ya think? I piece to de-stress from my day job. Weekends are for quilting.
PattyJo
go for a walk with my DH, pet the kitty, call a friend and get caught up on what's going on. Anything that sounds like fun will help take the stress away.
lym95
I'd respond to this, but I'm afraid I'd get too many TMI's.... Not to mention the ire of Margie mrmargie
Primitive1
Ha Ha! I like to step outside and throw the ball for my dog, love to look at quilt magazines, and when I actually have a nice block of time, paint! Vicki

I am no longer allowed to drive when we car pool to a quilt show or shop hopping! I want to "fondle" my fabric too- As everyone else in the car is doing!! But they get mad at me when I do it when I am driving!! Go figure;) Sewhappy
Renae
I love to go to a quilt shop and feel the fabric and zone out dreaming of quilts I can make with it. Look through quilt magazines at quilt patterns and quilt books and work in my quilt studio cutting, piecing, quilting anything pertaing to quilts is my therapy. I also love to crochet and read those are therapy for me also. Renae
RitaR
I actually prefer fishing at a pond or lake.. where I can play with fishing, watch the herons, ducks and geese, feel and smell the fresh air, get a bit of sun, etc.. and usually get a fish or two. Being outside just seems to do it for me. RitaR
jmcclannan
Well, after a margarita I destress with a friend. I have a friend who is really more like a sister and she has stage 4 colon cancer. I treasure every day God gives me with her and when I start feeling stressed I call her or take a walk over to her house and time with her puts my cranky problems back into perspective. KathyA
my way of destressing (when a large frogging event is eminent) is with chocolate cake - if I have any - then some redwork or applique. Handwork always takes the weight off my sholders. It's like meditating....
ncutt
OH, not DISTRESS!!! Lots of things distress me, but for de-stressing, I quilt or shop! I gave up the drinking and gambling years ago....

April W
Weeding 20+ flowerbeds. Really takes the stress away. Of course I pray a lot when I'm pulling weeds so that helps even more.
PamelaA
I'm with Becky, since retirement most of the stress has gone away. Now I can spend my time doing what I love, sewing and quilting. I also like to read, mysteries mostly. I too like to fondle fabric. However, it is dangerous to go to the LQS. I usually tell myself going in no more fabric and coming out well it was a good buy. Now if I could stop buying on line... When I was working sewing and quilting were always my de-stressers.
