Betty
My customer put this quilt in the HMQS show (at the very last minute) Neither one of us had any time to fret about putting a very first quilt in a show. She made it just in time to be included, learned how to make a sleeve, and we were so excited to think this quilt would be hung with so many beautiful quilts and viewed by so many people. The quilt got an Honorable Mention in the Mixed Technique Catagory. YEAH !!! Bought more stencils at the show, and I'm really thinking about doing this again. It was way cool. I've been wanting to use stencils for quilting since the stencil competition...was that last year? Just finished this one, and it was a blast to do. I always thought it would take me too much time, but this was only 2 days plus a really sore neck and shoulders

Betty
These are the stencils: This one I used for the tiny squares for the continuous line orange peel design This one I used in the green square around the pot This one for the basket weave And this one for the clam shells in the border I used a purple air erase marker and did each section at a time...mark, quilt, mark, quilt With the basket weave sometimes I used my ruler to finish the stencil lines so the marking lines weren't so vague. One wrong line and it stands out. All in all it was fun, I'm thinking of looking for more stencils, I could use some corner designs. This customer quilt really was ideal for the small texture designs. It was a wow quilt with some wow quilting. Not for the every day quilt ! THank HEAvens. Really glad you all like it, I was really happy with it too. My husband gave me the glazed deer look, you'd think the lightbulb would come on, but he just doesn't get quilting
Janette
That is so cool. I have never used stencils yet !!! I can't seem to follow that line !!! I can follow a line with a laser, but not a drawn line. Must PPP. I love what you did with those stencils.
