Oma
I LOVE this little quilt. It's so bright and happy. I kept the quilting very simple...sid...swirls...and a flower border with some 1/4 inch piano bars out. I doubled up on some QD so it had some "puffiness". The back is Minki...which I SPLURGED on at the LQS and paid $20 a yard for. That was hard, but it was perfect for this quilt. Soooo soft. I think it took about a yard and a half. OUCH!!!! Oma
I decided to keep it more simple, but VERY useable. I don't have anyone in mind for this quilt yet...I just really liked it. I'm sure that there are still a few grandbabies on the horizon for me somewhere. LOL.
Oma
I did SID around the owl and around the eyes and beaks. It still left them "puffy" which I liked. I put a little flower in their belly, but my husband didn't like it so I took it out. He was right.

Your quilting is perfect for it! Is that a machine applique/embroidery pattern that you used to make it?

Busy Quilting
I've quilted two of these so far. One needle turn applique and one blanket stitch now to see yours satin stitched, they all look so different. Such a fun quilt to quilt too. The needle turn I put flowers under the trees etc. Must see if I took a photo.

LadyLake
Very cute, Oma. I love the multi-colored 'broken dishes' blocks in the border next to the owls. And, I can see why you bought the minkee -- perfect!!

Bonnie H
Oma yours is such a cute one! I'm just starting a Hooterville, have all the components cut out, but wasn't sure which way I want to stitch it down, blanket or satin, until I saw yours. I love your satin stitching! Please tell me, did you do all this on your sewing machine on your own or did you digitize the satin stitching? Your fabric choices make the quilt even more darling.
