Horseradish quilt

Recommended Posts

One thing I love about my job is that it brings something different every day. Today, for example, one of my faithful customers brought me this little baby quilt and asked if I could do it before the other quilt she had in line and I said, "Of course". After a bit of chatting, she told me she had been at her son's house putting up horseradish. Well, my family loves horseradish and i asked her if she thought a jar of freshly made horseradish would be an acceptable payment for the quilting on her baby quilt. She was delighted and so was I. In my eyes, it was a good trade. In the past I have traded quilting for hand knitted socks, a custom queen bringing in 3 pairs of socks. Anybody else receive such fine payment?

Love those swirls.... great quilting. good trade too. I remember sitting on the back stoop at my parent's house grading horseradish. We would take turns til your eyes would water too much and you couldn't stand it! Now they have wonderful food processors for that. So much for technology and fine conveniences. :)
