RitaR
Congratulations, to the piecer, and mostly to you!! The quilt stitching is so varied, and beautiful. May I ask what batting you used. It really lets the focal points pop out.

Zora
Thanks, everyone. Rita, I used two layers of batting. Its been so long ago( a year, anyhow), I am not exactly sure what I used for the first layer, but I believe it was QD 70/30, with a layer of wool on top. Very puffy, and somewhat difficult to work with. I wouldn't use that combination again. I would use Hobbs 80/20 and Dream Puff...although I did like the way the design puffed up in the feather wreaths and around the stars. The customer was planning to use this as a wall hanging, so she said "stiff as a board and quilted to death" were fine with her. She likes to try new things....and she is 87 years old! Darlene Epp
I bet you hated to send that one home with the customer! I think I'd have wanted to make it's twin so I could keep it. Very beautiful, detailed work. I KNOW how much work all that curved crosshatching is. My hand hurts just looking at it! Nice job!
