barbm
I was a vendor at a quilt show in Thompson Falls, Montana this past weekend and had a chance to look at the quilts in the show, before the vendor mall opened up on Saturday morning. Imagine my surprise when I came around a corner and saw this quilt.....
barbm
According to the card next to the quilt, it was "inspired by a qult at the Spokane Quilt Show last fall." That was my quilt!
barbm
This is a 12-year-old young lady - drafted her quilt pattern from a photo of my quilt, did all the piecing and applique, then quilted it herself on her gramma's Gammill - what a great job!!:P:P
Quiltsinmotion
Barb what a wonderful story so glad you shared with us . What a sweet gift for you to know that your quilt inspired a young girl to draft ~ piece ~ quilt a quilt WOW I am thinking this is not her first quilt or she is just very talented
barbm
Definitely NOT her first quilt - and an award winner in the Youth Division - and in a judged show, at that! I was so proud of her - and so glad to be her inspiration. I told her she could copy my quilts any time!

quiltmonkey
Absolutely beautiful... major eye candy galore!::: The quilt, the cute young quilter, the ribbons,,, and of course, you too, doll face. So nice! I'll bet you have a VBG! PS: I always love it when the RIBBONS color coordinate with the quilt! Sometimes that happens, doesn't it? mrsbishwit
Barb, what a great story! and I am sure the young lady was just as happy/suprised to be able to meet the woman who made the quilt that inspired her to create one of her own. You touched a young quilters life and she will remember this as I am sure you will as well for the rest of your lives Fate is awesome!

victoriasews
And Barb, congratulations to you for making such a joy of the whole thing. Some people get their noses way out of joint if someone even looks at their quilts sideways or even considers copying. The same thing goes for recipes. What good is it if that person goes to the grave with the "secret recipe"? Thanks for being a mentor.
Betty
What a thrill for both of you. I'm sure you are someone SHE will never forget. Love the way seredipity happens. Thanks for sharing this great experience with us.
